Boundary issue in Kirksville Daily Express
ADVOCACY ACTION ALERTS:
1. Rescission: In the latest budget deal, the parties agreed to rescind $2.5 billion in unspent federal transportation funds. Last year, almost half of the rescissions came from programs that fund bicycling and walking projects. Contact Governor Nixon and MoDOT director Kevin Keith today to tell them this is wrong. Funding cuts for the rescission should be fair and proportional across the board.
2. Shoulders on Boundary: Call NE RPC transportation contact Kathie Small at (660) 465-7281, and let her know that you use Boundary for running, walking or cycling and it should have shoulders and bike lanes!
In other news:
Bike & Walk Commuters' Day breakfast stations are Friday, April 29! We are looking for baked goods (low sugar or no sugar, finger foods) for the stations. If you can provide these, we will pick them up after 4:00 Thursday--call me at (573) 268-8770. Also call if you can volunteer at a station Friday morning!
The Kirksville Daily Express covered the speed limit on Boundary.
